Day By Day

Your 4-day itinerary

Day 1Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut
Trek begins at Momella Gate, passing giraffes, buffalo and colobus monkeys through forest and open grassland to Miriakamba Hut.
Day 2Miriakamba Hut area for acclimatization and nature walks as permitted
A dedicated acclimatization day around Miriakamba Hut, with optional nature walks in the area as permitted.
Day 3Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut; acclimatization hike
Climb through heath and moorland to Saddle Hut, with an acclimatization hike towards Little Meru for crater views.
Day 4Summit attempt and descent to Momella Gate; transfer to Arusha
A pre-dawn start along the summit ridge to Socialist Peak (4,562m), then a long descent all the way to Momella Gate and transfer back to Arusha.
