German colonial history, WWI East African campaign sites and Moshi's trading-town heritage — a different side of Kilimanjaro's story, away from the mountain itself.
Long before it became the gateway to Kilimanjaro, Moshi was a German colonial administrative and coffee-trading post, and the wider region saw significant fighting during the World War I East African campaign. This tour visits surviving colonial-era buildings, the town's historic Boma sites and landmarks connected to the campaign, with context most visitors never hear.

This experience can be adjusted for private groups and special requests, and combined with other day trips, a safari, Kilimanjaro climb or Zanzibar holiday.
